Accountants One is looking for an Accounting Assistant for a local commercial Construction company. They will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to the accounting department, clients, vendors and employees. 100% in the office located at the Cobb Galleria area in Marietta.



Job Responsibilities:

• Process and review pay applications submitted by subcontractors and suppliers to verify accuracy and compliance with contractual terms and project specifications.
• Collaborate with project managers to gather necessary documentation and supporting details for pay applications, including progress reports, invoices, and lien waivers.
• Maintain organized records of pay applications, invoices, change orders, and other relevant financial documents.
• Prepare pay application packages for submission to clients, ensuring completeness and accuracy of all required documentation.
• Coordinate with internal and external parties to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to pay applications in a timely manner.
• Generate reports and updates on pay application status, budget vs. actual costs, and project financial performance as needed.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports, including reconciliation of pay application amounts with project budgets and forecasts.
• Stay informed about industry regulations, best practices, and emerging trends related to pay applications and construction accounting.
• Provide support during audits and compliance reviews by compiling requested documentation and responding to inquiries from auditors.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, preferred.
• At least two years of experience in accounting, preferably in construction or related field, with a focus on pay applications preferred.
• Knowledge of finance, accounting, taxes and related principles and practices.
