What To Expect
We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Backend Software Engineer to join our Data Analytics team to design and build RESTful API backend. This engineer will work with product, UX and Front-end development team, Data Engineers and Data analysts to design, prototype, and implement a web service that is responsible for interfacing to existing and future custom reporting solutions. The candidate must be comfortable with from-scratch API design and associated back-end software stack specification. To be successful in this role, you will need strong software engineering skills, excellent interpersonal communication, and experience accepting and giving meaningful feedback on technical designs and code reviews. What You'll Do Take ownership of the architecture, design, development, deployment and operations of the backend API stack you will develop, using software engineering best practices, and other cutting edge methodologiesCollaborate with colleagues in design and code reviewsDevelop means for deploying, scaling, and monitoring software systemsCharacterize complex problems related to the scalability, reliability, performance, and security of the softwareOwn projects and always seeks ways to improve efficiency and operations
What You'll Bring Solid back-end experience in building RESTful Python applicationsKnowledge in Go programmingKnowledge of various Python backend frameworks (e.g.Flask, Django, Tornado). Flask is preferredExperience with SQL, both relational and non-relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, Redis)Experience working with Kafka and AirflowExperience working with and creating WebSocket for live reportingUnderstanding of how to create an efficient, reliable, scalable, and maintainable software architectureGood understanding of logging, monitoring and alerting systemExperience building modern web applications using React or similar component-based libraries is nice to haveExperience with user-defined workflows (e.g., Airflow) is nice to have

Expected Compensation
$164,480 - $292,800/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
