Provides IC data management support to modernize mega data repositories, dataflow management, data provenance and compliance validation, and streaming solutions.

About The Role

Peraton is seeking an experienced Cloud Software Engineer to join our Cyber Missions team in Annapolis Junction, MD. You’ll work in a collaborative, Agile environment and contribute to a suite of innovative, web-based applications that streamline and automate data management for Intelligence Community (IC) data custodians. These mission-critical tools ensure compliant data movement, integration, and reuse across the customer’s mission space — enabling faster, smarter decision-making. Additionally, this position offers flexible work hours and hybrid work options.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development and enhancement of enterprise-level cloud and web applications.
• Use Java as your primary language to design, build, and maintain software solutions.
• Collaborate within an Agile team to define requirements, assign tasks, and track progress.
• Work across the full stack — from backend logic to front-end design — using modern frameworks like Quarkus and PrimeFaces.
• Expand your technical expertise while solving real-world challenges in data automation and compliance.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• An active TS/SCI with Polygraph level clearance is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field and 8+ years experience (or a Masters degree and 6+ years of experience) in software engineering, including requirements analysis, development, integration, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Note: an additional four years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• 6+ years developing software in Java.
• 3+ years in software integration and testing, including test plan and script development.
• Hands-on experience with Open Source NoSQL products supporting distributed, large-scale computing (e.g., HBase, Accumulo, BigTable).
• 5+ years of experience developing software for UNIX/Linux (Redhat versions 3-5) operating
• Experience with AWS Cloud services, Quarkus, PrimeFaces, and GitLab CI/CD.

Required Certifications (one or more):

• AWS Certified Developer – Associate
• AWS Certified Machine Learning – Associate or Specialty

Details

Target Salary Range: $146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
