POSITION SUMMARY:  

 

The Content & Marketing Coordinator for Kelty & Exxel Outdoors is responsible for working closely with the Exxel Outdoors Marketing Manager and other cross-functional teams. Duties for this role include content creation and deployment, deliberate planning and goal setting for social channels and email marketing, growing our brand awareness and reputation online, and cultivating brand partnerships and positive consumer experiences with our brand. Additional duties include event planning and logistics, workbook, packaging, and print collateral timelines to execution.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

  • Participates in overall brand direction and development, and execution of the annual marketing plan and creative calendar, while under guidance from the Exxel Outdoors Marketing Manager.
  • Ensures consistent brand image of Exxel Outdoor brands through all content.
  • Organizes, manages timelines, and executes content for social media and email marketing.
  • Continually reviews and analyzes actions to drive a positive ROI.

 

Web and social media

  • Works in close collaboration with Marketing and Web team to drive digital outreach.
    1. Creates content briefs and implements social media activities with a focus on growing brand awareness, engagement, and conversations.
    2. With guidance from Marketing Manager, develops and schedules emails, homepage promotion, product launches, site updates, and promotions, etc.
    3. Builds formula and track success.

Content Management

 

  • Assists the Graphic Designer in content organization including catalog(s), packaging, email marketing, digital and social media content.
  • Manages and assists in photo and video shoot direction for both product and lifestyle content needs. 
  • Gathers and organizes product information and specs from product development team to launch new product.

 

Public Relations and Ambassador Support

  • Evaluates and executes all requests for product submissions, donations, ambassador sponsorships and athlete proposals; coordinate delivery of product to selected parties.
  • Maintains written and verbal communication with sponsorship prospects in a timely manner.

Tradeshow & Event Coordination

 

  • Participates in events, tradeshow merchandising, and logistics planning.
  • Assists in establishing and managing booth events.
  • Evaluates and handles all requests for product donations, product sponsorship, coordinate delivery of product to selected parties.
  • Assists in the execution of all marketing events and sales campaigns.
  • Provides support and for Sales Meeting preparation.

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Supports the eCommerce platform by facilitating creation and delivery of all necessary content and collateral to support our website and marketplace properties.
  • Supports the Pro Purchase Program, in coordination with our eCommerce team.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field.
  • 2-3 years of marketing, social-media, email marketing, or related experience in the consumer product industry.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Strong conceptual, analytical thinker and creative problem-solver.
  • Ability and desire to work for team-driven organization in a diverse environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills and ability to multitask effortlessly.
  • Works well under pressure managing multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, and Power Point); alternate skills (Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign) are a plus.
  • Must be team, customer, and brand-focused, responsive in all ways, and has a high level of energy and passion for Exxel Outdoors brands, including Kelty product and positioning.
  • Demonstrated drive and confidence.
  • Passion for the outdoor lifestyle including camping, backpacking and hiking is required. Experience and understanding of Kelty’s products is a plus. 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

 

A collaborative, open space work environment located on the second floor of the 40,000 sq. foot facility located in Broomfield, Colorado. Team members share a common desk area. There are approximately 125 employees in the 40,000 sq. ft Broomfield corporate facility which houses a workout facility, multiple quiet telephone booths and a large employee breakroom for the employee’s use.
