The Association of Former Students engages and inspires the Aggie Network for Texas A&M University in perpetuating the Aggie Spirit. Through our Annual Fund, as well as other revenue streams, we provide scholarships, endowments, emergency student loans, and awards for faculty. Our newest colleague will join our Marketing and Communication team in advancing our mission through dedicated management of the digital marketing and social media program, which aims to increase awareness of The Association’s work and impact.

Essential Functions

  • Proficiency in developing digital marketing and social media strategies aimed at achieving outlined goals.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience managing content for various social media channels and digital marketing platforms.
  • Strong understanding of analytics tools, such as Google Analytics to analyze data and reporting within the digital marketing and social media environment.
  • Anticipate and take the initiative to continuously improve digital marketing and social media outcomes.
  • Project administration, including consistent sense of urgency throughout the marketing cycle, from strategy development to report generation and analysis.
  • Compose content that conveys accurate and meaningful messages to the audience and considers the story, impact, outcome, and ultimately the brand of The Association of Former Students, etc.
  • Excellent time management, written and oral communication.
  • Cultivate positive working relations through collaboration with cross-functional team members in Marketing and Communication and Web Operations.
  • Engagement in Marketing and Communication events outside of normal business hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

ROUTINE DUTIES

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Communication

  • Develop and execute digital marketing and organic/paid social media strategies.
  • Create and distribute content across digital marketing and Association social media channels.
  • Collaborate with the Brand Coordinator and Multimedia Specialist to design graphics and videos using the Adobe suite of products (i.e., InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, etc.).
  • Create and maintain an editorial calendar to deliver targeted content.
  • Maintain consistent brand messaging across all digital and social media channels.
  • Research, track, and analyze consumer behaviors and trends and implement research into digital marketing and social media campaigns.
  • Prepare reports and analytics on the overall performance of various digital marketing and social media campaigns, including ROIs and KPIs.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communication team to brainstorm new and innovative growth strategies and marketing techniques.
  • Develop and monitor campaign budgets.
  • Engage as needed on special projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (minimum requirements)

Professionalism, accuracy, efficiency, discretion and organizational skills. Exceptional proof reading and time management skills that support a high-functioning, multi-tasking, and deadline-driven work environment. Flexibility to change focus or adjust outcomes based on departmental needs. Exercise engagement to anticipate and take initiative without first being asked. Critical thinking and proactive problem solving. Solid processing skills (MS Office Suite, Outlook, Google Suite), as well as intermediate spreadsheet and database skills (Excel).

Cross-generational communication and interpersonal skills that allow for developing strong, long-lasting relationships with a wide variety of personalities.

Physical Capacity Requirements

Ability to sit or stand for long periods on occasion and carry objects up to 10 pounds. The ability to work at a desk with frequent use of keyboard and monitor. Experience

Required: A minimum of three years of experience in digital marketing and social media management, including, but not limited to, strategy development, content creation and management, trend research, and ROI & data analysis. Working knowledge of design and video editing within the Adobe suite of products (i.e., InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, etc.).

Preferred: At least five years of dedicated experience managing the digital marketing and social media strategy for an organization. Advanced knowledge of design and video editing within the Adobe suite of products (i.e., InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, etc.). Experience with project administration including data analysis.

EDUCATION

Required: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, business, or related discipline, or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, business or related discipline from Texas A&M University in College Station.

Received: Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Communication.

  • Participate in various Association-wide activities such as engagement and fundraising goals, internal event teams, task committees, attending gameday receptions, Distinguished Alumni Gala and other external events as required.
