**Req ID:** RQ209343 **Type of Requisition:** SCA **Clearance Level Must Be Able to Obtain:** None **Public Trust/Other Required:** None **Job Family:** SCA **Skills:** Blueprints,Electrical Equipments,Electronic Circuitry,Hand Tools,Troubleshooting **Experience:** 1 + years of related experience **US Citizenship Required:** Yes **Job Description:** GDIT is seeking a **Marine Electrician** to help support the **SACSS** program in Chula Vista, California. **This is an onsite position, and no relocation assistance is provided.** **Must be a US Citizen** **Job Description:** + Installs, maintains, repairs, overhauls, troubleshoots, modifies, constructs, and tests mechanical equipment and related devices + Troubleshoots and corrects structural placement + Makes recommendations for improvements or modifications to correct problems + May provide operation and maintenance instruction to customer personnel + Performs preventative maintenance + Participates in special projects, as required + Repairs, installs, replaces, and tests electrical circuits, cables, equipment, and appliances. + Uses hand tools and testing equipment + Inspects and tests electrical equipment, lighting, signal, communication, and power circuits + Isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment using general and specialized testing equipment + Replaces faulty switches, sockets, and other elements of electrical systems + Dismantles electrical machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts such as gears, brushes, and armatures + Mounts motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures into position and completes circuits according to diagram specifications + Works from drawings, blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams + Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures + Participates in special projects as required **Requirements:** + US Citizen + Associates Degree or equivalent years of related experience + Shipboard electrician 1+ years of experience **GDIT IS YOUR PLACE:** + Full-flex work week to own your priorities at work and at home + 401K with company match + Comprehensive health and wellness packages + Internal mobility team dedicated to helping you own your career + Professional growth opportunities including paid education and certifications + Cutting-edge technology you can learn from + Rest and recharge with paid vacation and holidays \#hireshipyardcareersgdit The likely hourly rate for this position is between $29.84 - $40.38. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
