The Professional Staff Nurse OR is a Registered Nurse and a member of the care delivery team. The Professional Staff Nurse OR is responsible to set the standards for the level and quality of care. The Professional Staff Nurse OR has responsibility, authority and accountability for the provision of nursing care. The Professional Staff Nurse OR manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through the application of independent judgment, communication and collaboration with all team members. The role of the Professional Staff Nurse OR encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration and supervision. The Professional Staff Nurse OR establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients and their families, to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care. The Professional Staff Nurse OR demonstrates a commitment to the community and to the nursing profession.
Responsibilities:
Translate learned skills to other facets of practice (e.g. using knowledge of how to scrub a procedure to better anticipate the needs of the team)
Work Schedule : Rotating shifts – predominantly day shift (7am-3:30pm) but will rotate to evening shift (1pm-9:30pm or 3pm-11:30pm) and night shift (9pm-7:30am or 11pm-7:30am); weekends and holidays; call; frequency and more specifics will be discussed during the interview.
