Job Description



We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate – Analytical R&D to join our team. This role supports ongoing research and development efforts by performing routine analytical testing, assisting with data analysis and documentation, and operating advanced laboratory instrumentation. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, technically skilled, and committed to maintaining quality and safety in a collaborative lab environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine analytical tests independently, following established protocols and procedures.
  • Support activities related to Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), System Suitability Testing (SST), and Analytical Quality Management (AQM).
  • Prepare samples and mobile phases using techniques such as solid-phase extraction (SPE), liquid–liquid extraction (LLE), and supported liquid extraction (SLE).
  • Operate and assist in the maintenance and troubleshooting of advanced laboratory instruments, including:
    • Agilent : UPLC, SQ, TOF, QTOF
    • Thermo : UPLC, Duo LC, Orbitrap
  • Analyze and interpret data with guidance, applying foundational knowledge of method parameters and system performance.
  • Assist in method development and sample preparation experiments under the direction of senior scientists.
  • Document all lab activities accurately and in a timely manner using electronic laboratory notebooks and internal systems.
  • Contribute to lab operations by helping maintain equipment, supplies, and shared responsibilities for cleanliness, organization, and compliance.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to support ongoing projects, safety standards, and data integrity.
  • Actively participate in training opportunities and expand technical skills through hands-on learning.

Qualifications



Minimum Requirements:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline
  • 3–4 years of industry experience in an analytical or bioanalytical laboratory setting
  • Hands-on experience operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining LC-MS systems, including HPLC, UPLC, and LCMS platforms
  • Proficiency with Agilent UPLC instrumentation and OpenLab ChemStation software
  • Familiarity with mobile phase preparation and common sample preparation techniques
  • Understanding of Automated Quality Management (AQM) systems and basic statistical analysis
  • Experience performing System Suitability Testing (SST) and interpreting results
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills; able to work effectively in cross-functional team environments
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt in fast-paced, changing environments
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, willingness to learn, and attention to detail
  • Commitment to laboratory safety protocols and data integrity
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship

Additional Details: 

This is a full-time, onsite position based on a first-shift schedule (Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM), with overtime required as needed. Candidates located within a commutable distance to Boston, MA are strongly encouraged to apply.
