We are seeking a System Build and Assembly Test Engineer to support our System Build and Fiber Optics Cable Testing department . In this role, you will contribute across multiple areas, including specification and drawing reviews, procedure development, operator training, process improvements, troubleshooting, non-conformance resolution, and equipment calibration/maintenance.
The primary focus will be Optical Product and Systems Manufacturing , working closely with Engineering and R&D teams to drive quality, efficiency, and innovation. This position supplements existing Engineering personnel and requires strong problem-solving skills and collaboration. A working knowledge of electronic controls and line drives is highly desirable.
Define, develop, and control test processes and equipment.
Document test procedures, train technicians/operators, and perform EOM studies.
Maintain test hardware, fixtures, and data collection systems.
Troubleshoot test failures and collaborate with Product Engineering and R&D on solutions.
Establish SPC controls and support data analysis with product engineering teams.
Improve product test throughput and yield to meet program objectives.
Compile and analyze data from system and block-level testing.
Support Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) initiatives by:
Integrating ES&H principles into shop procedures, equipment, and product design.
Attending required ES&H training.
Assisting with investigations and corrective actions for incidents.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
BS in Electrical Engineering (advanced degree preferred).
Experience with manufacturing test set operation required.
Proficiency with technical computing software preferred.
Knowledge of test methods and procedure writing preferred.
Familiarity with telecommunications transmission equipment architecture and function preferred.
Experience with optical testing methodologies strongly preferred.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills required.
